[2013 Frankfurt Auto Show] – Porsche 918 Spyder

ahhh! there it is! Last night Porsche presented us to the brand new sweet and awesome beast a beast that’s runs on half gas half electric a beast that’s gunning for the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari Electric Super cars; That beast is none other than the amazing Porsche 918 Spyder. Officially unveiling last night at Volkswagen HQ  along with a 27 pages press release which as you know we always have for you guys and is already posted in our Press Volt. The Porsche 918 is a work of art, many people wont see that hard work that went into creating this awesome machine however people who can afford it am sure they will feel it once it hits their wallets. However we think it’s something that most owners will love as this car is coming in at a whopping $850,000 that is certainly a lot but it is also below its competitors the P1 and the LaFerrari.

The 918 Spyder as we mention comes with two motors: a gas engine, and 3 electric motors together they produces a total system power of 885 Horsepower. The 4.6-Liter V8 engine which is mid mounted features a technology that Porsche calls dry-sump-lubrication, the engine will produces around 608 horsepower when being used without its partner in crime. Which is those 3 electric motors, well 3 highly super light electric motors, which was something Porsche emphasized when building this vehicles cut as much weight as possible and those technicians and engineers sure did a lot of weight cutting from everything including its brakes system and with the help of all the technology that Porches used to obtain such magnificent weight reduction. Those 3 electric motors are able to produce about 286 horsepower, giving the vehicle a very good amount of power when running on electric alone.

Although offering the lowest of horsepower in its class (McLaren P1 = 903HP and Ferrari LaFerrari = 949HP) I consider this car as a futuristic car; Which i see as something special for the cost of this vehicles not having to buy gas some times however if you want to go real fast even though there are speed limits your cars going to eat up gas! and i mean really eat up gas mmmm!  however Porsche advised me that this car will do very well on gas, that the mileages wont be too bad while running on gas engine. I say it still worth that $845,000 price tag because of how much work Porsche placed into this car not to mention the look of that interior. when i first saw the vehicle i was like DANG IT! its just a concept car; however Porsche personally told me that this vehicle was indeed production ready; so the buyers are getting something special with that 918 interior a lone which to me is worth a cool $500K by itself ^__^!!!!
