SAY HELLO TO THE VERY FIRST 787-9 DREAMLINER FOR UNITED!

NY, NEW YORK – United Airlines 787-9 Dreamliner Rolled out the factory last night and is set to make its very first flight later on this week. The Aircraft is set to be delivered sometime this summer, which is ahead of what United Air Lines was expecting.

United Airlines currently operates 10 of the dash 8 models with 9 remaining orders unfilled and 35 options. United was the launching customer in North America for the dash(-)8 series and is currently the launching customer for North America for the dash (-)9 series.

United 787-9 will be configured in a 3(three) Class layout with a total of 273 seats that includes

48 lie-flat Business First seats and are arranged 2-2-2 in rows 1-8, these seats are 22 inches wide.
88 Economy Plus seats that are arranged 3-3-3 from rows 16 – 24
116 Economy seats also arranged 3-3-3 and is from rows 27 – 41

Once delivered the 787-9 Dreamliner will see nonstop service between LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) and Melbourne, Australia six-times a week. The route is set to start in October.

United Vice-President of Fleet; Ron Baur made a few statements.

“The 787-9 is an amazing aircraft that builds on the 787-8’s proven fuel efficiency, performance and customer comfort,”

“We are excited to add the 787-9 to our Dreamliner fleet as it gives us even more flexibility and range to capitalize on our extensive worldwide route network.”

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the second and newest member of the fuel-efficient 787 family. With the fuselage stretched 20 feet longer than the 787-8, our 787-9 will fly more than 30 additional passengers and up to 300 nautical miles farther with the same exceptional environmental performance, including up to 20 percent less fuel burn per seat and up to 20 percent fewer emissions than similarly sized aircraft.
