[FARNBOROUGH 2014] Boeing At Farnborough Air Show 2014

BRONX, NEW YORK | As the Farnborough Air Show raps up, we take a look at each aircraft Manufactured, and brake down their orders and air show announcements –

Today we take a look at Boeing, The US commercial and defense aircraft manufacture. Boeing started off the show with a bang, releasing a great rehearsal video of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner practicing for it air show debut and performance, sadly though, that the performance didn’t go exactly as plan as Boeing was force to cut out certain pieces out of its performance such as its famed Touch and Go as the heads of Farnborough ruled it unnecessary and although without one of its main show stopper, the Dreamliner was able to do its performance without any hiccup’s.

With that Boeing made a couple of big announcements to officially kick off its 40years of Farnborough Air Show and was able to win 201 new orders and commitments for its commercial and its defense airplanes valued at more than $40.2 billion at list prices, bringing the number of net orders for 2014 to 783.

  • The Chicago aircraft OEM shock up, the single aisle commercial jet category, when the manufacture announced a 200 seat version of the Boeing 737-800MAX, an idea made possible by addition of an extra emergency door in the middle of the airplane similar to what Boeing used with the 737-900ER. Boeing states that the new 200-seat 737 max 8 option will give airlines up to 11 more seats of revenue. This latest addition to Boeing’s comprehensive product and services line-up will deliver 20 percent fuel-consumption savings compared to today’s Next-Generation 737.
  • Boeing also announced new details about the interior of the 777X. The new model will build on the award-winning interior of today’s 777 and apply 787 Dreamliner cabin innovations: higher cabin humidity, windows more than 15 percent larger and a cabin that is 16 inches (40.6 cm) wider than the competition, allowing airlines a variety of economy class seat widths.
  • Boeing signed a memorandum of collaboration with Paramount Group to jointly develop defense and security opportunities in key international markets.
  • Boeing unveiled its new Maritime Surveillance Aircraft at Farnborough. The aircraft, based on a Bombardier Challenger 605 business jet, will provide customers with maritime and overland surveillance, anti-piracy, coastal security and search-and-rescue capabilities.
