Hawaiian Commits to A333neo

BRONX, NEW YORK | Hawaiian Airlines has officially signed a (MoU) Memorandum of Understanding for six Airbus A330-800neo aircraft. The order replace Hawaiian pervious order for six Airbus A350-800XWB aircraft a type which has been cancel by Airbus leaving only the A350-900 and A350-1000.

With that agreement Hawaiian becomes just the 3rd Airline to order Airbus new wide-body aircraft launch last week to Farnborough Air Show, with 121 orders from two airlines Asia long haul lost cost carrier Air Asia X who ordered 50 A330-900neo and Russia second largest Airlines Transaero Airlines. Lessor Airlines companies was the one snatching up the new re-engine a330neo aircraft, Airbus receive more than 60 orders from four Leasing airline companies.

President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, Mark Dunkerley spoke on the Airbus new wide body.

“The A330-800neo’s fuel efficiency, additional range and commonality with our existing A330 fleet makes the A330-800neo an elegant solution to our need for growth aircraft toward the end of this decade,”

Said Mark Dunkerley,

“Hawaiian Airlines has long recognized the value of innovation and today’s commitment is yet more evidence of that forward-thinking mindset,”

John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers spoke on the new Hawaiian order.

“The A330-800neo will serve the Hawaiian network well as the airline continues to expand in Asia and grow its capacity in mature markets. The aircraft will provide unbeatable value in a very large and important segment of the wide-body market.”

The new A330neo aircrafts are designed to burn up to 14% less fuel over today Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 better known as A330ceo (Current Engine Options). The new wide body is set to launch with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, giving the aircraft up to 400 nautical miles in additional range over the A330ceo. New winglet inspired by the A350XWB; along with a new cabin entertainment system, which flyers can watch even 3D movies at 40,000 feet.
