China Southern Completes Inaugural Service to New York-JFK
NEW YORK, NEW YORK| China Southern Airlines has begun its 4-weekly service to New York, becoming the only carriers to offer nonstop service between New York and Guangzhou, two of the largest and populated cities in the world combine there are more than 20 million people.
The 4-weekly services will be operated from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday depart at 01:40 A.M, and arriving at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 05:45 A.M the following morning . The return service will depart the ‘Big Apple’ at 11:15 A.M, and landing back at Guangzhou at 03:15 P.M. The new service will be operated by a fleet of brand new Boeing 777-300ER China Southern newest aircraft, first delivered in March 2014.
New York will become China Southern’s third North American destination, following Los Angeles and Vancouver, which are serves using a fleet of Airbus A380 on the Los Angeles route and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on Vancouver service.
China Southern’ s first direct Guangzhou-New York flight arrived early Wednesday morning with more than 250 passengers and crew, however the flight included 3 very special passengers; a delegation from China aboard, including Si Xianmin, and China Southern executive vice-president Chen Gang and assistant president Li Jun. The 3 was greeted at JFK Terminal 4 with a big celebration and special thank you from Terminal 4 president and CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff, of JFKIAT, LLC, the operator of JFK’s Terminal 4

“Although this is not the first time we’ve worked with China Southern Airlines at the airport, this is a very significant, important and exciting event for us,”
“With over a million Chinese living and working in New York city, and approximately 650,000 Chinese visiting our city every year, this new direct route from Guangzhou will strengthen the relationship among our two regions by increasing opportunities for tourism and communication,”
Si Xianmin also spoke at the welcoming ceremony:
“Growing economic and people-to-people exchanges between the US and China have created a great platform for China Southern Airlines to launch the new service.”
“As the largest city in the United States, New York is truly the capital of the world,” Siadded. “It is the world center of finance, trade, science, information technology and has no equal. Guangzhou is the third largest city in China and the political, economic, scientific and cultural center of southern China.” Si Xianmin added

“We want to present the new service as an anniversary gift,”
said China Southern Airlines chairman Si Xianmin, What Si is referring tois the 35th anniversary of the establishment of China-US diplomatic relations. New York is using the new service as a tourism campaign around the Globe.
China Southern partnered with I LOVE NEW YORK tourism board to launch the worldwide campaign, to help both more Chinese and other around the world visit New York. With China Southern SkyTeam partner Delta Air Lines operating a big international hub at JFK Terminal 4 China Southern and Delta Air Lines along with other SkyTeam members will be bring those tourist into the big Apple. “I Love New York”currently has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
Andrew Cuomo, theGovernor of New Yorkmade theannouncement at the ceremony. New York Tourism marketing partnership with China Southern to promote tourism to New York State, saying that collaborating with Asia’s biggest airline will make the city more accessible to the Chinese market. Governor Cuomo went on to add.
“By partnering with China Southern Airlines, I LOVE NEW YORK is taking a giant step forward to promote the best place in the world to travel: New York State,” said the governor in a statement. I LOVE NEW YORK is the state’s global tourism initiative and it expanded its promotional efforts into China in June.

China Southern Airlines currently operates 3 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft all 3 are newer than China Southern fleet of 787 Dreamliners. The airline has an option for 7 more Boeing 777-300ER.
China Southern Fleet of Boeing 777-300ER will operate on the New York route as more aircraft arrived. China Southern will most likely add more flights too the route. looking to expand there long haul fleet. However we know that its configured in a 4 class layout featuring 309 seats. 4 First Class seating, 32 Business Class with a configuration of 1-2-1, 44 in premium Economy configured 2-4-2 and 229 in Economy with a configuration of 3-3-3. The 77W(777-300ER) also has many features. First and business come equipped with a high-definition, touch-screen in-flight entertainment system and are programmed in five languages. English, Chinese, French, Japanese and Korean.
The seats in first recline by 180 degrees, with an 82-inch pitch and a 33-inch seat width. Each comes with a 23-inch HD entertainment screen with Touch PMU handset. Business can be adjusted into a fully-flat bed that is 76 inches long and and 29 inches width. The IFE screen is 15.4 inches.
