Royal Jordanian Celebrates First Dreamliner
AMMAN | Royal Jordanian the national airline of Jordan, this past week celebrates the arrival of their first Boeing Jet and their very first 787 Dreamliner. The Middle Eastern OneWorld carrier became the second airline from the Middle East to operate the Dreamliner after Qatar Airways.
RJ currently has an order for 11 Dreamliners, where 4 are leased from AerCap. The first Dreamliner being delivered to RJ was acquired through leasing company AerCap. RJ operates a fleet of Airbus A320 family including A319,A320,A321, Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A340 widebody aircrafts
The Dreamliner is apart of RJ fleet modernization plans. Where the airline plans to operate 38 aircrafts by 2017 including 11 Boeing Dreamliner 5 Airbus A319 10 A320 and 4 A321. Their current fleet of A330/340 family will be phrase out.
Royal Jordanian 787 are configured in a 2 class layout with a total of 267 seats. First Class will have 23 180 full flat bed seatings and Economy will see 244 seats with a typical Dreamliner 9-Abreast configuration throughout Economy Class.
If you fly OneWorld are any of RJ partners you can catch RJ Dreamliners on routes to and from North America, where the airline plans to operate 6 weekly flights to Chicago, 4 weekly to New York, Montreal and Detroit will also see RJ Dreamliner in the future but Chicago will be the first stop on the companies list, after all Chicago is fellow OneWorld carrier American Airlines Hub.
