Thomas Cook showed off their new paint job and logo on their brand new Airbus A321 which is fitted with Airbus’s new Sharklets, which helps to burn fuel at a much lower cost than the usual Airbus fin.
The new paint job made its debut on the second A321 of Thomas Cook Group 23 new Airbus A321-211 aircraft that they have on order, with the remaining 21 Airbus set to be delivered from here to 2016. Those Airbus is set to replace the older Boeing 757 and probably a few of the 767 aircraft in the fleet. Their logo features a Golden heart with a sun shining over the top of the heart. The livery is known as the “Sunny Hearts” Livery, it features the Golden heart on the tail fin with grey background top it off with Euro white body color and yellow strips the word “Thomas Cook is written in billboard form in grey ink. We love the livery and think it’s a big departure form the old Thomas Cook Airlines livery. Overall we say its beautiful its modern and the airlines is run by a women so expect hearts.
G-TCDC is the second of the 23 new A321 aircraft ordered by the Thomas Cook Six of these aircraft will be deployed in the UK by the summer season of 2014. G-TCDC will enter service in the next few days operating holiday flights to a range of European destinations.
Christoph Debus, Chairman of Thomas Cook Group Airlines and CEO of Thomas Cook Airlines UK had this to say
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting phase for our UK airline, bringing a new experience for our customers as we welcome this new aircraft to our fleet. By next summer, six such aircraft will be taking our holidaymakers to destinations across Europe and North Africa. It’s very symbolic that we will see the first of our new Airbus A321 aircraft in the UK take on our new ‘Sunny Heart‘ livery, an icon for the new Thomas Cook and the new Thomas Cook Airlines.”
Christopher Buckley, Executive Vice-President Sales at Airbus followed with this statement about the new planes
“Passengers will be extremely happy with this brand new aircraft, the second of 23 new A321s that we will be delivering to the Thomas Cook Group for their operations out of the UK. The fleet of A321s in the fantastic new Thomas Cook livery will become a familiar sight to travelers at airports across the UK and Europe.”
With the addition of the new airplanes Thomas Cook UK launched a few more destination; to the Caribbean from their based in Manchester and will launch new flights from Stansted Airport in the summer of 2014. For the winter in 2014 into 2015 they will be launching ultra long haul fights to the beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica (Voted one of the most beautiful places to visit in North America/Caribbean) and Flights to Varadero, Cuba. We will be testing out the new Thomas Cook Airlines come next year!
